Ghostbusters This game is fun. Serious fun. It's not the best game I've ever played, the control system and basic gameplay is nothing special. It's just....fun. but I'm getting ahead of myself. This is Ghostbusters for the PS3. Set after the first two Ghostbusters films, this is a completely new instalment to mark the 25th anniversary of the original films. This really does feel like the third film that never was - Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd (the original writers as well as Ghostbusters Egon and Ray) wrote the script to this game. No expense has been spared on the voice talent either, with the sublime Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson returning as Ghostbusters Pete and Winston alongside Ramis and Akroyd. Even the brilliant William Atherton |(you know - the guy who's the slimy reporter in Die Hard 1 and 2) reprises his role as Walter Peck from the first movie. |
This is what makes this game so good. The cut-scenes and in game dialogue are funny. You want to play through the plot and, as I mentioned at the beginning, although the gameplay itself isn't out of this world, it's fun being a Ghostbuster and getting to hang out with Pete Venkmen. You probably know the drill, chase down ghosts with your PKE meter, shoot them with your proton pack and then catch them in a trap and whatever else you do, much like a men''s urinal in a public toilet, you never EVER cross the streams. It 's all pretty straight forward, but If like me, you enjoyed these movies when you were a kid, then (aside from one annoying bit on the top floor of a hotel) you'll play through this game with a massive smile on your face. 8.5/10 |
