Below is a copy of the published document titled ‘Design Principles for Tamper-Resistant Smartcard Processors’.  Oliver Kommerling of ADSR and Markus G. Kuhn of the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge produced this document.

The presentation is referred to by Mr. Kommerling in an Affidavit submitted in the Canal + v NDS and the Echostar v NDS legal cases.  It is offered here to simply help inform those who are interested in the supply of BSkyB’s Conditional Access, which is supplied by NDS.  Mr. Kommerling was closely involved in the setting up of NDS.
